Mervin D. Winston C.P.A. Business and Strategic Planning Consultant Mervin Winston founded Mervin Winston, Ltd. in 1989 and maintains a highly involved role in the company. Throughout his career he has sharpened his abilities to see the big picture and gained insight to business growth strategies. His broad professional experiences provide a unique perspective to our CFO for Hire and consulting services, as well as to our compilations, audits, reviews, and tax preparation services. Mervin combines expertise gained from both large corporations and small business associations. His range of professional experiences includes: Five years with a Big Eight public accounting firm 10 years combined as an executive manager at two Fortune 500 companies Three years as Deputy Budget Director for the City of Detroit Past president and CEO of the Metropolitan Economic Development Association, where he participated in the start-up of 12 small businesses Over 10 years experience as a college-level accounting instructor Mervin has also served on the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management Board of Overseers, the Federal Reserve System's Board of Governors' Consumer Advisory Council, the Courage Center Board of Directors (where he also served as treasurer), as well as on the board of directors for a private high technology company.
